Fundación ONCE

Fundación ONCE

Description

Fundación ONCE for Cooperation and Social Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities was born in February 1988, through resolution of the ONCE General Council, and was presented to society in September of that same year as an instrument for cooperation and solidarity of Spanish blind people towards other collectives of persons with disabilities to improve their life conditions. In addition to ONCE itself, as a founding entity, Fundación ONCE comprises, through its Board, highest governance body, the main organizations of persons with disabilities in Spain.

Also part of the Board of Fundación ONCE is CERMI (Spanish Committee of Representatives of People with Disabilities), platform that encompasses the main organizations of persons with disabilities in Spain, many of them regional, and that combines over 3,000 associations and entities, which represent the 3.8 million persons with disabilities and their families living in our country. The main source of financing of Fundación ONCE for each fiscal period comes from the 3% of gross income obtained from the sale of games of chance from ONCE. This figure represents one Euro from every three that ONCE dedicates to social services.
